What are the advantages of using monofilament shooting line?

Monofilament is stiffer and easier to handle than normal string. It also has
great abrasion resistance, this is the reason why high breaking strains are
used even for relatively small fish 1.4mm or 1.8mm are normally the best
choice for UK diving.
